10 Tips to Help Improve Your Memory

"I can't remember..." "I forgot where I put the..." "Do you know where I put...?" Does this sound familiar? I'm sure we all have those moments where we blank out and just can't remember where we left our keys or wallet. Is it possible to improve our memory? Fortunately yes! 1. Focus

A major component to retaining information is by focusing our attention. In order for the information to go from short-term to long-term, you need to actively focus & process the information. When studying or working, try to do so in a place free of distractions such as the tv, music, electronics, etc. Find a quiet place so you can focus.

 

2. Avoid Cramming

Research has shown that students who study on a regular basis, tend to retain the material better than those who try to cram it all in one studying session. When you take the time to study, you are able to allow yourself time to process the information.

 

3. Be Organized

When trying to remember certain information, try to organize them into related clusters. Try to group similar concepts or terms together and make an outline. In this way you can find a pattern and be able to remember the information more easily.

 

4. Exercise
