4 Tips to Help You Lose Weight

Half body baths are essentially just taking a bath while immersing only half of your body. How does this help? Well the idea is that when you take a longer and warmer bath, it can help speed up your metabolism. Your baths should be around 20-30 minutes and you can take them every other day. If you exceed that duration, it could produce counter effects to your body. You may feel your body sweating after a few minutes into the bath. To make this experience more relaxing and enjoyable, bring a book or your phone as you bath. If you can, invest in a good bath table that you can hook right over your tub. Make sure the temperature of the water is about 100 degrees Fahrenheit (of course if it's too hot for you, you can slowly ease your way up) and to immerse your body half way so that the water level is right below your chest.

If you notice that the water temperature has dropped during your bath, you can always add more hot water to bring it back up. Taking a half-body bath is a lot easier for you to stay in the bath longer, while the high temperature of the water heats your body and accelerates the calorie-burning process. Of course, the calories burned during the bath is not sufficient for weight loss, taking these baths on a regular basis can potentially help speed up your metabolism & improve your skin. Some have noticed a gradual weight loss after trying this method consistently for just a few weeks. You'll be surprised to find that this may turn out to be one of your favorite activity during the day!

 

2. Substitute With Konjac

What is konjac? It is a jelly like food that doesn't have much taste and is a great substitute for your rice or noodles. It will usually take on the flavor of whatever food you are cooking which makes this an easy ingredient to cook with. Since konjac consists of 97% water and 3% fiber, substituting your rice or noodles with it can significantly help lower your carb intake. In addition, konjac tends to expand in the stomach, which can help you feel fuller for longer periods of time & prevent you from over-snacking throughout the day. Konjac is also inexpensive to buy which makes this a great, inexpensive substitute in your diet to help you lose weight! 3. Chew Your Food More

This a great method in helping those who struggle with portion control. When you chew more, it can help you feel fuller longer. A common problem is that people who eat fast, tend to over stuff themselves. The reason being is that it takes a while for your stomach to inform the brain that you are full. In addition, when you swallow your food without chewing properly, it can lead to certain side effects such as giving your stomach a harder time digesting the food you just ate.

Also, chewing releases histamine to the brain that tricks it into thinking that you are full. Many people find themselves eating smaller portions when they are able to remind themselves to chew more. You can try chewing at least 30 times for each bite of food and alternate sides when you chew.

 

4. Eat Your Veggies First

How does eating veggies first help with weight loss? Well first off, eating vegetables first can make you feel fuller. This, in turn, can help prevent you from over-eating other foods and with portion control. Also, eating vegetables first on an empty stomach can help prevent your sugar levels from spiking up and insulin from being mass released. When too much insulin is released, such as when we eat rice or bread first, it becomes easier for our bodies to build up fat.
